blond (or brown) ambition

OMFG.

i kind of need this.

it's from forever 21's website. i immediately thought of madonna and her 1990 blond ambition tour.

i'm going to have to get me that jumpsuit. it's a must. i don't care how flashy or impractical it is, how poor i am because it's AWESOME. and i would look awesome in it.

isn't it weird?

it might be a little known fact i used to be in love obsessed with hanson.

it might be a lesser known fact that i wanted to look like hanson.
and in order to do this, besides considering cutting my long hair with the exception of a rattail to look like taylor, i dressed like them. i had the baggy levis, the v-neck knitted striped shirts, the layers of string necklaces with miscellaneous crosses and symbols and, of course, doc martens.

this grungy trend is definitely in full effect now and i luckily have a pair almost brand new stashed away in pulaski. maybe i should get them out. i'm not sure if i'd feel more like courtney love circa 1994 or zac hanson circa 1997. either way, those shoes were pretty pricey and i should probably bring back my hanson pride.

now, i don't feel so bad that i didn't continue persuing my hanson look-alike obsession.

taylor should really learn that mustaches are a no-no in the hotness rule book (unless you're my dad).

and they all are married off and have kids. quite disturbing, considering i was the one who was supposed to marry taylor. he definitely wouldn't be sporting any sort of facial hair. but he would still have that rattail.

me, my jewelry, my fashion

this is a picture of me from about a year ago or so. my friend andrea took these pictures of me at maymont for my portfolio.

i was inspired to make this necklace after seeing a fashion spread in vogue, august '06 featuring linda evangelista.

she wore a tiered and layered necklace of various size links and metals with charms down her chest. so my version was of course more quirky and focused on color and balance. i used vintage chain link and charms, erasers, spraypaint, and silver and copper hammered links. it's definitely different from a linda evangelista-style necklace but definitely something i would wear to a party. for my outfit, i wore a vintage leather top i got for $2 at a yard sale. my friend caitie found it at a thrift store for a halloween costume, but of course i saw so much more out of it. i paired it with american apparel high waisted sparkly shorts. texture, color, so yummy!

intro...

i'm not sure what this blog is about. i'm not sure about my goals... but i'm looking forward to figuring this out, and keeping a visual photo archive of my passions and obsessions.

her ability to accessorize is truely an inspiration. i want to be that amazing.
